on cnn's website...

“David Hasselhoff starred in the 1980s TV series "Knight Rider," in which his character, Michael Knight, teamed with a talking Pontiac Trans Am sports car to fight crime.”

When you put it that way, it sounds so much dorkier than I remember it.

Easy, buddy. There's nothing dorky about a Trans Am...in any era.

It's funny you mention that..

Fascinated by the novelty of old TV on iTunes/iPod, I downloaded the pilot, the episode with KITT's evil twin KARR (that's Knight Automated Roving Robot) and also both 2-part episodes having Michael Knight's evil twin brother (Garth Knight) and his 18-wheel semi (Goliath) that had a giant sewer grate attached to the front of it and was fully coated with the stolen formula for KITT's "molecularly bonded" shell.

Oh, it was much much worse than we remember. Gary Larson seriously pulled the wool over our eyes on that one. Oddly, Larry King's current (11th, 12th?) wife was a regular recycled extra on the show.

(Yet again, I've peeled back yet another layer of my complete and total dork-dom!)

Downloading Knight Rider? You must not have read your iPod manual. Such actions are cause for reposession of said device.

At least they should be.
